This company, based in Spain, operates as a controlled landfill that offers the disposal, treatment and storage of waste. It was founded in 1988. It conducts business from its registered head office located in Azpeitia. The company’s landfill was created to pour waste from the municipalities that make up the Commonwealth of Urola Erdia (Aizarnazabal, Azkoitia, Azpeitia, Beizama, Bidania-Goiatz, Errezil and Zestoa). After the emergency situation in Gipuzkoa in terms of waste management, waste from the Community of San Marco, Debabarrena and Txingudi is dumped in the company’s landfill. Since 2009, domestic waste collection has been started door-to-door in Usurbil, Hernani (2010), Oiartzun (2010) and Antzuola (2011), from which organic waste has been taken to be treated in the composting plant. Also linked to the increase of municipalities that collect organic waste through the 5th container, the amount of organic matter that reaches this plant has increased significantly. In 2011, the treatment capacity of the plant tripled (6,500 tons were treated in a plant designed for 2,500 tons).
